Cavalera Light Tank (M551 Sheridan) converted directly from Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. The model seen from afar consists of the chassis, turret, gun and wheels due to the structural complexity and quantity of materials. This, too, helps make the DFF file less heavy.
Originally, in Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, the tank has a 75mm M4A1 Sherman rifled cannon and a .50 machine gun. Of course, in GTA San Andreas only the M4A1 Sherman rifled cannon is usable.
The mod includes both open hatch and closed hatch versions. I decided to include a version with a closed hatch because, possibly, some people feel visual discomfort when driving a tank with an open hatch. However, the originality was not affected. Only the hatch has been rotated in the same way as in the original game. KNOWING THAT IT IS THE SAME VEHICLE, IT IS POSSIBLE TO USE ONLY ONE VERSION AT A TIME. PLEASE READ THE INCLUDED "READ ME" INSTRUCTION FILES (AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH, BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE AND SPANISH) CAREFULLY TO INSTALL CORRECTLY.
In 2014 another user named GTAMLGTM posted the same tank here on the website. However, I would like to make it clear that I have NOT PLAGIATED HIS MOD OR INFRINGED HIS COPYRIGHT. MY MOD IS DIFFERENT FROM THEIRS BECAUSE MINE HAS ABSOLUTELY ALL THE PARTS SEEN IN MERCENARIES 2: WORLD IN FLAMES LIKE, FOR EXAMPLE, THE SIDE THORNS AND TURRET THORNS, BARBED WIRE IN THE SIDE AND TURRET AND M2 BROWNING IN THE TURRET; WHILE THE GTAMLGTM MODEL DOES NOT HAVE THESE PARTS. THEREFORE, WE MAY CONSIDER MY MOD AS IDENTICAL TO THE ORIGINAL MODEL OF MERCENARIES 2: WORLD IN FLAMES.
The tracks don't work as I don't know how to make CLEO mods.
Updates
Version 1.1 (February 27th, 2023): The tank has been fully extracted from the game again in order to be assembled correctly according to the original layout of parts in Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. I made a point of extracting and assembling as accurately as possible. The tank scale value has been changed to the original value of the source game. In addition, the mod now includes open hatch and closed hatch versions, as for some driving a tank with an open hatch can look visually uncomfortable. However, the originality of the tank model was not affected, with only one piece (hatch) rotated as seen in the original game. Finally, realistic collision has been added. |
