The Bucharest Transport Company is the main public passenger transport company in Bucharest and Ilfov county. It was created by the reorganization of the Autonomous Transport Authority of Bucharest in September 2018. The surface public transport in Bucharest is the responsibility of the Bucharest Transport Company (STB) and includes a large network of buses, trolleybuses and trams. The STB network is one of the densest in Europe, being the fourth largest on the continent and carrying 2.4 million passengers a day on the 145 bus lines, 17 trolleybus lines and 26 tram lines (including the light subway mentioned).
